Designing Your Artwork

A few quick rules so your puff print pops the way it should.

Single-color artwork example for 3D puff transfers

Keep colors simple

Single-color designs give the cleanest, most consistent puff. Skip intricate multi-color artwork.

Bold text width example for 3D puff transfers

Go bold, not thin

Thick, chunky letterforms hold the dimensional puff effect best. Fine scripts and small text tend to flatten out.

Line thickness and negative space example for 3D puff transfers

Give it room to breathe

Aim for at least 2pt line thickness and 4pt of negative space between elements (1pt = 1/72 inch).

How to Apply

Three steps from press to peel.

1. Place

Lay your transfer face down in position. Use heat-tape for hats or tricky placements.

2. Press

Apply heavy, even pressure at 175°C / 350°F for 7 seconds.

3. Peel

This is a hot peel — remove the backing sheet immediately while warm.

Pressing Instructions
Position face down: Line up the transfer carefully on your item. Heat-resistant tape isn't usually needed on a flat press, but it helps a lot for hats or ironing.
Press: Heavy pressure at 175°C / 350°F for 7 seconds.
Peel: This is a hot peel — remove the film right away.
Care Instructions
Turn the garment inside out before washing.
Wash in cold water.
Air dry, or tumble dry on low.
These steps help your print last as long as possible.
Art Upload Tips
All file types accepted — vector files give the best results, and raster art should be at least 300 DPI. Adobe RGB (1998) is preferred for color accuracy.
Minimum detail size: elements smaller than 0.02in (0.5mm) may not transfer cleanly.
Tip: exporting from Canva or Procreate as a PDF works great.
